About me and my inspiration

Julie Hutchison is a jewellery designer based in Dundee, Scotland. Her work reflects a deep connection and passion with the natural world. Julie’s pursuit of natural forms and her keen interest of plants and seed pods reflect in her work.

Through photography and drawing, Julie is adept in extracting forms and textures to apply to the surface of silver. Manipulating the metal and using wire to join connections allows her designs to have movement and fluidity, whilst still having a fragile and organic appearance. Alternative materials such as resin and seeds have been incorporated with silver, giving a fascinating result. The relevance of her work can be attributed to ‘’What Nature Leaves Behind’’.
